ITE DIVERSITY SCHOLARS PROGRAM

GTC is pleased to sponsor a scholarship in honor of Patrick A. “Pat” Gibson, P.E., T.E., PTOE, as part of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Diversity Scholars Program. Per ITE, the purpose of the Program is “to increase underrepresented populations participation in the transportation profession by supporting increased diversity at the undergraduate level.”

Pat, an ITE Fellow and Life Member, has
long been focused on the professional development of promising
young engineers and planners, teaching at local colleges and
universities, running company internship programs, and serving
as the ITE Western District Student Endowment Fund Chair. During
his time teaching at the University of California, Los Angeles,
Pat was named Outstanding Transportation Educator by the ITE
Western District and was twice named Civil and Environmental
Engineering Department Lecturer of the Year (an award given by
the students). This scholarship was created in honor of all Pat has
done for students throughout the years.
